You are just a homophobe!
When people resort to name-calling, they have reached the end of their ability to articulate a rational argument. Nevertheless, there is a kernel of truth to it. Some people do have phobias, but some phobias are justified. Many people, for example, share a phobia of snakes, but that’s because snakes can hurt you.
The fear that parents and loved ones have of homosexuality is not unjustified either. It has little to do with bigotry, ignorance, or a lack of understanding. Rather, it has everything to do with a complete understanding of the facts. In light of the documented dangers of homosexual behavior, family and friends have every reason to fear their loved ones getting involved in homosexuality. The health dangers, social dysfunctions, and inability to procreate are conditions no sane parent
wants any child to choose.
Likewise, the fear that a majority of Americans have over same-sex marriage has a solid rational basis as well. It’s based on the evidence, not prejudice.
