Yes, there is help for porn addiction. I’m speaking as a former porn addict who had an 11-year addiction. I have been clean for nearly twelve years.
Admitting to yourself that your porn addiction is destructive is the first step for eliminating addiction from your mind and body. If you are serious about ridding yourself of this addiction, then you must develop a “whatever it takes mentality!”
As you seek help for your porn addiction, consider asking your best friend or a family member to become your accountability partner. Discuss your porn addiction triggers and devise boundaries for them. Remember, successfully defeating your addiction is your responsibility. Lying to yourself or your accountability partner won’t help you defeat porn and lying makes it difficult for anyone to help you.
Being proactive is the best way to overcome porn. Preparing for the crisis is difficult during the crisis. Have a plan for what you are going to do when you unexpectantly encounter porn. I’ve set up some personal safeguards for myself. Consider these for yourself too:-
I’m married, so don’t give other women a second glance.

I remind myself I can fall again.

As a counselor, I don’t counsel women without my wife.

I force myself to look directly into a woman’s eyes when she is showing cleavage.

I view women more as my sisters.

I develop a more respectful attitude toward women.

I seldom go to video stores for entertainment. Half-naked women on DVD covers tempt me.

I meet with my male accountability partner bi-monthly.
-
I try to keep myself out of situations that are dangerous for me.
